Precious

These are just a couple of random thoughts not in any order, over the past couple of weeks God has been teaching me about how precious people are and how easily we are hurt by other people words or actions.

pre⋅cious–adjective

1. of high price or great value; very valuable or costly: precious metals.
2. highly esteemed for some spiritual, nonmaterial, or moral quality: precious memories.
3. dear; beloved: a precious child.
4. affectedly or excessively delicate, refined, or nice: precious manners.
5. flagrant; gross: a precious fool.
–noun
6. a dearly beloved person; darling.
–adverb
7. extremely; very: She wastes precious little time.

Origin:
1250–1300; ME preciose (< class="ital-inline">precios) < class="ital-inline">pretiōsus costly, valuable, equiv. to preti(um) price, value + -ōsus -ous

Main Entry: precious
Part of Speech: adjective
Definition: favorite, valued
Synonyms: adored, beloved, cherished, darling, dear, dearest, idolized, inestimable, loved, pet, prized, treasured
Antonyms: disfavored, useless, valueless, worthless

My question do we treat each other as precious, adored, beloved, cherished, darling, dear, dearest? And what does that look like? I guess God has been teaching me about his heart for people and how much we miss when we don't treat them as they should

I will end this with my favorite song

I wasn't sure if you wanted comments so I hadn't commented yet. I love this post and the blog it made me look deeper into something I already knew was there so thank you.

In answer to your question: "My question do we treat each other as precious, adored, beloved, cherished, darling, dear, dearest? And what does that look like?"

I think we treat each other like a we do that or our wedding band. At first it is sacred never to come off. This ring was so special it was to be cherished. As time goes by cleanings are farther apart and the shine dims. Next thing you know you can look at your ring and wonder were is all the glory that was once there. Then just like a marriage, friendship or relationship with a little time and effort a clean shiny ring comes out the other side.

Now I am rambling but I pledge to make all my rings (relationships) old and new precious today and always and I will do this by working at it.

I totally believe it is a god thing! Looking at someone and just embracing them as they are, not wanting them to change. I know in my marriage God told me to marry Mike not for what he was then, but for what God would make him. And in the end it has been a total blessing. I have no expectation of change from anybody, Normally I just enjoy people, except durning injustice I hope that makes sense, I so want comments to have a real dialog on faith and life and all that is in between!
Thank you for leaving a comment! I sincerely hope this is only the beginning of our friendship
